Testing Technology

Magnet-PrüftechnikProducing is a feature of most, controlling of some and measuring of the fewest suppliers. Proper calibration arises as a first problem, as measurement devices are used over the course of many years without being questioned. Absent and inadequate measuring technique results in a broad range of results for identical workpieces. The question of fulfilling or not fulfilling the specification becomes a gambling and might simply be decided by a single worker’s gut feeling. To produce our permanent magnets, we rely on the use of qualitative measurement techniques and expertise, which can be adjusted according to the individual requirements of series- and sample production by production plant and customer. (Link Qualitätspolitik). Our measurement procedures underlie strictly structured processes, including detailed work instructions for each step and worker. The essential characteristics of our high-quality magnet production include the control of the exact material composition and compliance with our internal guidelines. During production, the individual process steps are controlled via latest partly- or fully-automated measurement devices. Each measurement is documented with a corresponding goods-related test report.

At the beginning of 2015 we implemented our own material testing at our site in Moers. In these modern facilities, we possess a variety of technical possibilities to perform comparison measurements and to analyse and evaluate our and/or customer’s materials. Utilizing the obtained knowledge, we can advise our customers with the precise selection of the most suited permanent magnet material and whether they once received what they ordered. As a detailed analysis often results in the observation, that the supposed bargain material contains blatant defects and simply cannot compete with our materials.

Besides the determination of specific weight losses, we can analyse relevant magnetic properties. In addition, the material-related, irreversible magnetic flux losses can be measured and calculated. If needed, we can examine the surface tension and -roughness, which are crucial parameters for magnets being glued during the application.
